Comedian Hans Teeuwen is asked why he 'offends' people and whether that may or should be allowed. The immediate cause for this conversation was the song 'Het Vrije Woord' (Free Speech) he sang at the memorial service for film director Theo van Gogh who, because of his films criticising Islam, was killed in 2004 by the Muslim extremist Mohammed Bouyeri. In his song, Teeuwen made a sexual allusion to the Meiden van Halal ('Girls of Halal'; three Muslim girls of Moroccan origin who discuss current multicultural issues in the Netherlands), who subsequently invited him to their programme to justify his remarks. Later on, this performance of Hans Teeuwen won the "Television Moment of the Year 2007" award.

Cabaretier Hans Teeuwen wordt gevraagd waarom hij mensen 'beledigt' en of dat wel kan/mag. Directe aanleiding was het lied 'Het Vrije Woord' dat hij zong bij de herdenking van filmregisseur Theo van Gogh, die in 2004 om zijn islamkritische films werd vermoord door moslimextremist Mohammed Bouyeri. In zijn lied maakte Teeuwen een seksuele toespeling op de Meiden van Halal, die hem daarop uitnodigden in hun programma om zijn uitlatingen te verantwoorden. Later werd dit optreden van Hans Teeuwen uitgeroepen tot televisiemoment van het jaar 2007.
