Conference Invitation: "The Future of Sustainable Products and Services", September 28-29, 009 in Essen, Germany

With the support of the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of the Environment and together with leading partners engaged with sustainability challenges in Europe and around the world, the UNEP/Wuppertal Institute Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) is organising an international conference on the future of sustainable products and services.

All conference sessions and activities are designed to meet three central objectives:
. Cross linking of knowledge
. Networking and inspiration
. Implementing follow-up projects

Quadratur und Proportion

Eine zentrale Passage in Vitruvs Abhandlung stellt die Theorie des wohlgeformten Menschen (homo bene figuratus) vor. Anhand geometrischer Formen werden die Proportionen des Menschen zueinander beschrieben. Dies inspirierte mehrere Künstler der Renaissance zu Skizzen, unter anderem auch Albrecht Dürer. Die berühmteste Illustration stammt von Leonardo da Vinci und erlangte unter dem Namen „Der vitruvianische Mensch“ Berühmtheit. Gerade mit dieser Zeichnung bestätigt Leonardo die These Vitruvs, der aufrecht stehende Mensch füge sich sowohl in die geometrische Form des Quadrates wie des Kreises ein.
